Electric vehicles (EVs) are gaining traction in India, driven by rising fuel costs and increased consumer interest in sustainable alternatives. Tata Motors, a leading name in the electric passenger vehicle market, has announced a game-changing commitment: all its new EVs will deliver a minimum range of 500 kilometers on a single charge.
Tata Motors, which commands a significant share of the EV market—selling one in every two EVs in the country—has made strides in addressing range concerns. Managing Director Shailesh Chandra confirmed the company’s efforts, citing the launch of the updated Nexon EV as a prime example.
Extended Range Models
- The Nexon EV, previously offering a range of 325 kilometers, now boasts a battery capacity of 45 kWh and a range of 489 kilometers.
- The upcoming Curvv EV will debut with a range of 500 kilometers, signaling the company’s focus on range enhancement.
With these advancements, Tata Motors is positioning itself as a key player in India’s rapidly evolving EV landscape, setting new benchmarks for range and affordability in electric mobility.
