Unnao rape case: Protest outside Delhi High Court against suspension of Sengar’s jail termWomen activists from the All India Democratic Women‘s Association joined the protest along with activist Yogita Bhayana and the survivor‘s mother

Many protesters, including women activists and the mother of the Unnao rape survivor, gathered outside the Delhi High Court on Friday (December 26, 2025).
This happened a few days after the sentence of Kuldeep Sengar, a former BJP MLA who was convicted in the case, was suspended.

The protesters held signs and shouted slogans like “Stop protecting rapists” to support the Unnao rape survivor.

Women activists from the All India Democratic Women‘s Association joined the protest along with activist Yogita Bhayana and the survivor‘s mother.

Speaking to PTI, the survivor‘s mother said she came to the high court to protest because her daughter had gone through a lot of pain.

“I am not blaming the whole high court, but only the two judges whose decision has broken our trust,” she said.

She added that earlier judges had given justice to the family, but now the accused has been given bail.

“This is an injustice to our family. We will go to the Supreme Court, as I trust it,” she said.

The Delhi High Court on Tuesday ordered the release of Sengar, who was serving a life sentence in the case, on bail pending the disposal of his appeal against his conviction by a trial court in December 2019.

“This is an injustice to our family. We will go to the Supreme Court, as I trust it,” she said.
