Maha Kumbh: President Droupadi Murmu today visited the Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj and took a sacred dip at the Triveni Sangam, a confluence of the Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati rivers.

As part of her visit, she is also set to offer prayers at the revered Akshayavat and Bade Hanuman Temple. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is accompanying her during these religious rituals.

Officials stated that Governor Anandiben Patel and CM Yogi Adityanath welcomed the President upon her arrival in Prayagraj.

The Maha Kumbh, which commenced on January 13, is recognized as the largest spiritual and cultural congregation in the world. This grand festival attracts millions of devotees and will conclude on February 26, coinciding with Mahashivratri.

According to a statement from Rashtrapati Bhavan on Sunday, “During her day-long visit to Prayagraj, the President will take a holy dip at Sangam, perform prayers at Akshayvat and Hanuman Mandir, and explore the Digital Kumbh Anubhav Centre.”

Historically, India’s first President, Dr. Rajendra Prasad, had also participated in the Maha Kumbh by taking a holy dip at the Sangam, marking a significant tradition among the country’s leaders.
