Google Play and UPI services were down

Services for UPI and Google Pay were unavailable. Because of this, users are becoming agitated. People complained on social media because they were unable to complete purchases.

It is important to note that UPI is widely used throughout the nation for digital payments. It is anticipated that UPI transactions will reach 93.23 billion, a 42% annual growth. In a report, this was stated.

In terms of volume and value, the three UPI platforms—PhonePe, Google Pay, and Paytm—remain dominant, per Worldline’s India Digital Payments Report. These three applications accounted for 93% of all transactions in terms of transaction volume. This share was 92 percent of the transaction value.

In addition to UPI, other digital payment options in India include net banking, credit cards, prepaid cards, and mobile payments. The digital payments environment in India is expanding quickly, according to Ramesh Narasimhan, CEO of Worldline India. This is because UPI has become widely used, POS (point of sale) infrastructure has grown, and mobile transactions are becoming more and more popular.
