In a major expansion push, Max Healthcare Institute Ltd announced plans to invest ₹6,000 crore by 2028 to add 3,700 hospital beds across key cities in India. The announcement was made by Chairman and Managing Director Abhay Soi during the inauguration of Max Super Speciality Hospital, Dwarka — a new 300-bed greenfield facility in Delhi.
Currently operating 22 healthcare facilities with around 5,000 beds, Max Healthcare aims to scale up to approximately 30 hospitals within the next four years.
“We’ll be reinvesting all our generated profits over the next decade into creating new healthcare assets,” said Soi.
Max Healthcare Four New Hospitals in 2024
The newly opened Dwarka facility is just the beginning. Max Healthcare plans to open three more hospitals this year in:
- Mohali
- Mumbai
- Saket (New Delhi)
The Dwarka hospital features over 120 critical care beds, 10 modular operation theatres, advanced Cath Labs, and cutting-edge medical services in cardiac care, oncology, renal sciences, robotic surgery, pediatrics, and organ transplants.
Strategic Expansion for Accessibility
Soi emphasized the importance of Delhi-NCR as a medical hub, highlighting Dwarka’s strategic connectivity to various parts of the capital. He said the hospital aligns with the group’s strategy to build advanced healthcare infrastructure in high-demand locations.
“As a greenfield venture, this facility reflects our intent to expand meaningfully by improving healthcare accessibility,” he added.
Future Growth and Possible Acquisitions
While the current ₹6,000 crore plan covers organic expansion, Soi revealed that future acquisitions are also on the table.
“We’re opportunistic. If we get the right opportunity, we will go for acquisitions,” he stated, noting that acquisition funds will be in addition to the ongoing investment plan.
