Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Q1 FY27 Results: Net Profit Rises 15%, Revenue Grows 12% but Misses Street Estimates

Mumbai: Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Ltd. reported a steady set of financial results for the first quarter of FY27, with growth in revenue, operating profit, and net profit on a year-on-year basis. However, the company slightly missed analysts’ expectations on revenue, EBITDA, and net profit, indicating a softer-than-anticipated quarter despite healthy business momentum.

The company’s performance was supported by continued demand across its consumer electricals portfolio, although the results suggest that growth fell marginally short of market forecasts.

Crompton Greaves Q1 FY27 Financial Highlights

Crompton Greaves reported a consolidated net profit of ₹140 crore for Q1 FY27, compared with ₹122 crore in the corresponding quarter last year, registering a 14.8% year-on-year increase.

However, the reported profit was slightly below the analyst estimate of ₹143 crore, indicating a minor earnings miss.

The company’s revenue from operations increased to ₹2,235 crore, up from ₹2,000 crore in Q1 FY26, reflecting a 11.8% year-on-year growth. Revenue, however, came in below the market expectation of ₹2,300 crore.

Crompton EBITDA Increases but Falls Short of Estimates

Operating performance remained healthy during the quarter.

EBITDA rose to ₹224 crore, compared with ₹190 crore a year earlier, representing a 17.9% year-on-year increase.

Despite the strong growth, EBITDA was lower than the analyst estimate of ₹232 crore.

The company’s EBITDA margin improved to 10.02%, compared with 9.60% in Q1 FY26, reflecting an expansion of 42 basis points. While the margin improved year-on-year, it was marginally below the 10.1% expected by analysts.

Consumer Demand Supports Growth

Crompton Greaves continued to benefit from demand across its portfolio of fans, pumps, lighting products, and household appliances.

The company has been expanding its premium product offerings and strengthening its distribution network, helping it maintain steady revenue growth despite a competitive market environment.

However, the slight miss versus analyst expectations suggests that demand or execution was somewhat softer than the market had anticipated during the quarter.

CROMPTON Outlook for FY27

Going forward, investors will closely monitor:

– Demand during the festive season.

– Growth in the fans, pumps, and lighting businesses.

– Recovery in consumer spending.

– Raw material cost trends.

– Ability to sustain double-digit revenue growth and improve operating margins.

The company’s continued focus on innovation, premiumisation, and distribution expansion is expected to support long-term growth.

Conclusion

Crompton Greaves delivered a stable Q1 FY27 performance, with net profit rising 14.8%, revenue increasing 11.8%, and EBITDA growing 17.9% year-on-year.

Although all three key financial metrics came in slightly below analysts’ estimates, the company continued to improve its EBITDA margin to 10.02%, demonstrating better operating efficiency.

Overall, the results indicate healthy underlying business performance, but investors will look for stronger execution and earnings growth in the coming quarters to meet market expectations.
