About the Film
Produced by Dharma Productions, Kesari Chapter 2 is a gripping historical courtroom drama and a spiritual successor to Akshay Kumar’s 2019 hit Kesari.
The story revolves around C. Sankaran Nair, the fearless lawyer who took on the British Empire in court after the Jallianwala Bagh massacre.
The film is based on the book The Case That Shook the Empire, which narrates the 1924 defamation trial where Michael O’Dwyer, the former Lieutenant Governor of Punjab and the man responsible for the massacre, sued Nair for criticizing British brutality.
Alongside Akshay Kumar, R Madhavan and Ananya Panday deliver powerful performances, making this courtroom drama both inspiring and hard-hitting.
Audience and Celebrity Reactions
The film has received praise from audiences and critics alike. Actor Gajraj Rao recently lauded Ananya Panday’s performance, stating, “Ananya Panday kamzor nazar nahi aati”, highlighting her strong portrayal, with Akshay Kumar and R Madhavan also appreciating the feedback.
